AMD 3rd Generation Ryzen Threadripper Reportedly Launching 5 November

November is nearly here, and AMD still hasn’t provided a launch date for its 3rd generation Ryzen Threadripper HEDT CPUs. Thanks to the leakster site, Videocardz, we may now have both a possible announcement and launch date for the lineup.

The source of this information allegedly comes from within AMD itself, who provided Videocardz with documents indicating that the company may be planning to launch a total of three next-generation Ryzen Threadripper CPUs on 5 November. These CPUs supposedly include the Threadripper 3960X, 3970X, and a 3990X.

Moreover, the documents also suggest that AMD could be planning on making both the Threadripper 3960X and 3970X available on 19 November, just two weeks after the launch. As for the 3990X, AMD is apparently only planning on releasing the top-tier HEDT CPU in January the following year.

While there are still no details about the Threadripper 3970X or 3990X, there have been some details about the 3960X. As per our earlier report, the CPU will supposedly feature a 24-cores, 48-threads count, but at the time of writing, there was still no performance details. On the subject of core count, many sites online are speculating that the 3990X may have a 48-cores, 96-threads count.

On another note, AMD’s also expected to unveil its new Ryzen Threadripper motherboards based on the TRX40 chipset, alongside with the new 3rd generation HEDT processors. Further, they are expected to go on sale on the same 19 November launch date.

As this publication, AMD has not released any official statement regarding the alleged launch date. It also stands to reason that these dates are not set in stone and could be changed at any given time. So, take this news with a grain of salt.
