Capcom To Bring Back Dormant IPs Following Success of Resident Evil 2 Remake
As a publisher, Capcom has a great number of titles under its name. Many of them have, unfortunately, not been heard of for years. The publisher intends to change this by reviving more of its other dormant IPs.
Capcom told investors in a financial report that it will be increasing the number of developers to that end. The company did not reveal which of its many series it intends to revive.
According to the report, this decision is motivated by two of its more recent releases. One is Devil May Cry 5, a very successful sequel that came 11 years after Devil May Cry 4. Another example is the remake of a game from 1998, Resident Evil 2 Remake.
With this, here’s hoping the company will bring back its Dino Crisis and Darkstalkers series. Compilations aside, the last release for these titles were from back in 2003 and 1997, respectively.
