The Epic Games Store Is Getting A UI Overhaul
The Epic Games Store is not exactly popular among PC gamers, and it’s not just because of the exclusives. As a store front, it is quite lacking on features, especially compared to established names like Steam. Epic Games is looking to slowly address that, and has announced another small step on the road to that goal.
In its store feature update, Epic Games announced that it’s in the middle of developing a new storefront. When it rolls out, it will feature better overall navigation. As part of that, you’ll be able to search for games using filters, and sort them by release date, among other options.
Beyond the storefront, Epic Games is also working on an in-game overlay. The company did not divulge much on that aspect, beyond it will be away to “interact with your Epic Games Sore while in-game”. Presumably, it will work like what you’re already used to on Steam.
For those who are displeased with the EGS, this will likely not address more pressing issues. The lack of a shopping cart when buying games comes to mind, but the EGS has support for bundles instead. Epic Games has also not announced when these changes will be rolled out, so it’s best to not hold your breath for it.
