Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 Will Support Crossplay, Producer Confirms

From the trailer released last week, we know that this year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be released on 25 October. It will also be released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. But one question remains: will players be able to play with or against each other across these platforms? The answer, according to an Infinity Ward producer, is yes.

Candice Capen, the producer in question, confirmed on Twitter while answering the question from another user. For context, Infinity Ward is the developer for the title. That said, no exact details was revealed. This could still pose a problem for console players playing with controllers, particularly if they were matched with PC players armed with the keyboard and mouse.

Screen Rant reports that there have been rumours about crossplay segregating players based on their input device. That said, these remain rumours. But with E3 coming up, chances are that’s when we’ll get our confirmation.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is the 16th title in the series, and a reboot of the Modern Warfare subseries. It will also reportedly not feature a season pass, which is an oddity among games published by Activision, and especially the Call of Duty series.
