Samsung To Announce New Galaxy Fold Launch Details This Month
Samsung postponed the launching of the Galaxy Fold amidst a number of reported issues with review units that were handed out to a select number of reviewers. Now it looks like the company is almost ready to put the Galaxy Fold into the hands of the public.
Samsung CEO DJ Koh told The Korea Herald that the company has reviewed the defects from the collected review units. The company is also currently making tweaks to the design of the phone to prevent similar problems.
Some of the tweaks in question involve increasing the durability of the hinge, and decreasing the gap between the protective layer and the main display’s bezel. This, the company says, will prevent external substances from entering the device, which was the main cause for the widely reported issues faced by the Galaxy Fold.
When asked if the phone will be launched within the month, Koh said “We will not be too late.” Granted, this will likely be a US announcement, but hopefully, a Malaysian announcement will come within a week. The previous announcement for Malaysia was, after all, a week after the global launch.
