ASRock A320 Motherboards Will Only Support Next Generation AMD Ryzen APUs

ASRock recently updated its list BIOS update list in conjunction with the imminent launch of AMD’s Ryzen 3000 CPUs. The list contains a number of its entry-level A320 motherboards, and more to the point, it looks like the new BIOS support for these boards will only be applicable to the next generation Ryzen APUs.

One possible reason behind this limitation could be due to A320 chipset’s inability to handle the power draw of the upcoming Ryzen 3000 series CPUs. It’s ironic, especially when you recall that the first generation Ryzen CPUs were designed with both thermal and power efficiency being integral factors in their design.

The BIOS updates for all ASRock AM4 motherboards will be made available on their respective pages upon the launch of AMD’s Ryzen 3000 series CPUs during Computex 2019. Additionally, the updates will also be available via ASRock App Shop software, for those of you who intend to automatically your motherboards via the Windows desktop.
