Latest Android Q Beta Now Available On Google Pixel Devices And 15 Non-Pixel Devices
During Google’s I/O keynote today, the search engine clearly had several topics to talk about, one of them obviously being the current state of its upcoming Android Q OS. On that note, the latest beta version of the OS is now available on all Google Pixels devices, plus 15 other non-Pixel devices.
What is surprising is Google’s decision to make the newest Android Q beta to its first Google Pixel device, especially since the phone – as pointed out by The Verge – it’s last major update was supposed to be Android 9 Pie. Unsurprisingly, the beta will be available to the Pixel 2 and Pixel 3 smartphone series.
As for the 15 other non-Pixel devices, the full list of these phones are as listed below:
- ASUS Zenfone 5z
- Essential PH-1
- Nokia 8.1
- Huawei Mate 20 Pro
- LG G8 ThinQ
- OnePlus 6T
- OPPO Reno
- Realme 3 Pro
- Sony Xperia XZ3
- Tech Spark 3Pro
- Vivo X27
- Vivo NEX S
- Vivo NEX A
- Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G
- Xiaomi Mi 9
Among the updated features available with the latest Android Q beta is the long-awaited Dark theme, plus new gesture mechanics that would seem familiar to people who have used the iPhone X and later.
In order to gain access to the new Android Q beta, you’ll need to be enrolled into Google’s Android Beta Program. As it is with all beta version of an OS, expect some bugs – both minor and major – to rear their ugly heads occasionally.
