iOS 12.3 Update Brings New Apple TV App, #AirPlay2 Support for Smart TV, and More
Apple today has released iOS 12.3 update for iPhone and iPad which carries a number of new features that were announced back at the company’s press event back in March. Among them include the new Apple TV app.
The new app carries together several new functionalities including the integration of cable and satellite channels. However, this particular implementation which is also known as Apple TV channels alongside similar integration for selected streaming services is not available in Malaysia for the time being though.
What available for our market is the ability to purchase or rent movies directly in the new Apple TV app instead of using iTunes. The app also provides personalized recommendation and curated collections based on users’ viewing habits.
At the same time, the iOS 12.3 update also enables users to share videos, photos, music and others from iPhone and iPad to AirPlay 2-enabled smart TV. Samsung is one of the first companies that already committed to AirPlay 2 support for its smart TV which is available natively on 2019 models and will be rolled out to 2018 models through firmware update.
Not to forget, the update also includes the usual general bug fixes and improvements which include a particular issue that related to Wi-Fi calling. You should be able to see and download the iOS 12.3 update right away in the Software Update section within the settings of your iPhone and iPad.
