Rumour: Apple “iPhone 11” To House Triple-Cameras Setup; iPhone XR Model To Feature Dual-Camera

According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple will be joining the triple camera club sometime this year. The high-end model for the fruit company’s “iPhone 11” is set to feature a triple-camera main setup. At the same time, Apple will be adding an extra lens to its refresh iPhone XR line-up for 2019.

This news from WSJ corroborates with an earlier render of the supposed iPhone 11, which has a square camera module similar to the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. But situated more to the corner instead of a middle of the phone. The new camera is said to be the hero feature for this year’s premium iPhone model.

However, the triple-camera system is said to be reserved only for a “larger” iPhone 11 model. The smaller model will still rock dual cameras at the back.

The same report also says that Apple will have three models just like 2018, with two sporting OLED displays and one LCD model. Similar to how the iPhone Xs and Xs Max featured OLED displays, while the iPhone XR only came with an LCD display.

WSJ claims that the 2019 model development is now entering the final stages, where major designs can’t be changed. We should be seeing the phone launched sometime in the third quarter.
