Skype finally revamped its UI from Snapchat-like to simplified Classic Blue

It wasn’t too long away when Skype went Snapchat with the new user interface with highlights and captures among other features. But recently, Skype underwent another massive UI renovation thereby bringing back its ‘classic blue’ design that makes Skype one of the most used app for video and audio calling along with texts and more.

The largest video chatting software company introduced the Snapchat-like interface earlier this year which made calling a bit tough while introducing a slew of features such as highlights and captures that doesn’t go well with the application as per its fundamental functionality. All of this functionality makes it an app for calling or texting someone and not spend the time of sharing highlights and other Snapchat-like features.

Skype stated in his official statement that the previous design became somewhat complicated for the users but with the latest update, they have successfully restored its lost glory with white and blue themed interface. Further, all the highlights will be erased after September 30.

The new Skype UI is simple and clutter-free with buttons on the right on Windows/Mac software while the contacts are available on the left similar to how it was earlier. The mobile version too has been refined further and the new UI allows users to view contacts and calls, chats, at the bottom of the screen. The app bearing version 8.29 is now available for Android, iOS, Linux, OS X, Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 OS.
