Computex 2018: Intel Teases Audience With An Unnamed 28-Cores CPU

Aside from its  Core i7-8086K anniversary edition CPU, Intel clearly had something else up its sleeve. Nearing the end of its keynote, the semi-conductor maker surprised the audience with a quick tease of its yet-unnamed 28-cores CPU.

Intel also provided the crowd with a brief demonstration of its prowess via Cinebench R15’s muti-GPU benchmark. With 28-cores and a whopping 56-threads, the CPU achieved a score of 7336 points, and completed the render in mere seconds.

Intel did not give any specific detail about its new monster of a processor, save except that the CPU was running on a single socket. However, upon closer inspection of the product details listed in the benchmark, we could see that the CPU had a base clockspeed of 2.7GHz.

The good news is that the CPU isn’t just a concept, and Intel intends to start selling the 28-cores CPU to the masses by the end of the year. If and when it does come to Malaysia, one thing is for sure: it’s not going to be cheap.
