Vivo X21i launched in China with over 90% screen ratio, Helio P60 SoC

Vivo today launched yet another smartphone in its home country. Vivo X21i is basically an updated version of the previously launched X21. One of the highlights of the device is its screen-to-body ratio which is an impressive 90.3%.

There is nothing left to the imagination thanks to the previous leak by a Chinese Telecom. Anyway, let’s have a look at the specifications.

Vivo X21i specifications and features

Vivo X21i

Since this is the improved version of X21, the device follows its sibling closely in terms of design, hardware and other features. Vivo X21i comes with a 6.28-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. As previously mentioned, it has an impressive 90.3% screen-to-body ratio. They were able to achieve this ratio by minimizing the top and side bezels to negligible. On top of that, you’ll notice a 2.5D curved glass protection too. Vivo X21i sports a MediaTek Helio P60 SoC processor while its previous version comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660.

Another notable change is the front camera which is bumped up to 24MP from 12MP making it a selfie-centric smartphone.  At the back, there is a dual camera setup having two 12MP sensors. Both the front as well as rear cameras support Artificial Intelligence. There is a fingerprint sensor at the back right above the Vivo branding. Just like any other smartphone, this one too has a Facial recognition capability in it. It is worth noticing that the camera can recognize skin tone, gender, environment and applies the most suitable filter.

Other specifications include a 3,425 mAh battery unit, Android 8.1.1 Oreo, a 154.73 x 74.98 x 6.99 mm body, and 159g weight.

This smartphone comes in two variants – 4GB RAM with 128GB of onboard storage and 6GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage. This storage combination is different from the present trend but some might find it more suitable. Both the variants have the same price tag of 2,698 yuan (roughly Rs 28,700) thanks to the mixing of the storage options.

Available in Polar Night Black, Aurora Whit, and Ruby Red color options, the device will be up for sale from May 19. Although, the pre-order window is already live.

There is no word on whether it will make its way to the Indian market at all. Although, Vivo is planning to launch a smartphone from X21 family in India – Vivo X21 UD. The device will come with an in-screen fingerprint sensor. In both the scenario, we’ll keep you guys updated no matter what.
