Details about the Pokémon Nintendo Switch game may have leaked

Last year at the Electronics Entertainment Expo (E3), The Pokémon Company announced an untitled Pokémon game for the Nintendo Switch.

Fans were understandably excited, as the long-running role-playing game series has in recent years been featured primarily on the Nintendo 3DS handheld (or mobile phones in the form of Pokémon Go), making this the first true console experience in quite a while.

However, no details were revealed at the time, and since then, nothing further has been confirmed.

That said, a number of recent leaks may provide the first look at what the Pokémon game on the Switch might  be like.

To start, a recent 4chan thread suggests that Pokémon on Switch will be called Pokémon Let’s Go! and be released in two different versions, as is customary for the franchise: Pokémon Let’s Go! Pikachu Edition and Pokémon Let’s Go! Eevee Edition.

The name was taken and translated from a Japanese logo that the users claim is leaked from the game.

Moreover, 4chan users state the game will be released this fall.

It’s worth noting that the Pokémon Company launched a ‘Project Eevee’ Twitter account last year that focuses specifically on the evolutionary creature. Similarly, a recent tweet from Pokémon developer Game Freak’s Junichi Masuda featured Pikachu and Eevee plushies — as well as a Pikachu doll wearing a Luigi outfit — which all could be hinting at Pokémon Let’s Go!

Previous leaks have suggested that the game will be a remake of Pokémon Yellow, which originally launched on the Game Boy in 1998, and would star Red and Blue, the trainer and rival from the first generation of the series.

Interestingly, the leaks also stated that the game would feature some sort of Pokémon Go integration, which would fall in line with what Masuda told Game Informer in 2016 about wanting to connect the main series games to the hit mobile title.

Ultimately, these are all leaks on fan sites and, therefore, should be taken with a grain of salt.

Nintendo has a major presentation slated for Tuesday, June 12th at this year’s E3, where the publisher is confirmed to show off the new Super Smash Bros. on Switch, among other titles.

It’s possible that Nintendo and the Pokémon Company may also reveal more information about Pokémon on Switch during the presentation, especially given that the game was originally announced at last year’s E3.
