HTC Officially Unveils The U20 5G and Desire 20 Pro

When was the last time you’ve heard the name HTC? While the company might not be a prominent name within the mobile space anymore, that doesn’t mean it is already out of the scene though and today HTC has announced two new phones for its home market, Taiwan.

The first in the list is the HTC U20 5G which is the first 5G phone from the company. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, the new phone also carries a 6.8-inch Full HD+ display alongside 8GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage.

On its back, the U20 5G features a 48MP f/1.8 main camera alongside an 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth-of-field cameras. The phone’s 32MP selfie camera is housed on the top left side part of its display while it is also equipped with a 5000mAh battery that supports QC4.0 tech and up to 18W fast charger.

The other phone in the list is the HTC Desire 20 Pro which features a smaller 6.5-inch Full HD+ display and the ageing Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor. The lower-end 4G model also carries a much smaller RAM and internal storage space at 6GB and 128GB, respectively.

The Desire 20 Pro does have similar 48MP quad-camera as per U20 5G but its selfie camera comes with a lower resolution 25MP sensor instead. The phone still features a 5000mAh but only supports up to QC3.0 standard.

Pricewise, the HTC U20 5G is said to cost TWD 18990 (~RM 2738) while the Desire 20 Pro goes for TWD 8990 (~RM 1296). For now, it is not known if HTC has the intention to offer these devices outside of Taiwan although we don’t think that they will be made available in Malaysia anytime soon.
