YouTube Adds Bedtime Reminder So You Don’t Spend Too Much Time On It
YouTube has announced something called bedtime reminder. As the name suggests, this is a feature that tells you to get off the Google-owned video hosting platform when it’s time to sleep. This is a feature that may be especially handy during this Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).
When the feature gets rolled out, you can set the reminder from either Settings, or Time Watched. You’re free to set the start and end of your bedtime. Also, you will be able to set the reminder to not appear in the middle of a video. There’s also a snooze option, which will remind you to go to bed again after 10 minutes. It’s all starting to sound like a built-in alarm clock for YouTube.
This bedtime reminder feature is another item on the list of digital well being features YouTube has added. They are generally similar to the digital wellbeing features of Android 9 Pie itself. You also get stats on the amount of time you spend on the platform watching videos.
YouTube says it’s rolling the feature out today, but at the time of writing, we haven’t seen the option yet. It’s also important to note that while it’s available for both Android and iOS, the feature is not available for iPads for whatever reason.
While it sounds like a minor addition, there’s no better time for this feature to be added. After all, if you end up staying on YouTube for too long, it can be hard to tell when bedtime comes, and a reminder for it is always welcome.
