Only Certain 13-inch MacBook Pro (2020) Can Support Apple Pro Display XDR

Just two days ago, Apple has unveiled the 2020 iteration of 13-inch MacBook Pro which will be made available in Malaysia soon. Featuring Magic Keyboard alongside larger base storage option, the newly refreshed notebook can also be obtained with up to 10th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and 32GB LPDDR4X-3733 RAM.

However, if you are planning to purchase a unit and pair it with your Apple Pro Display XDR, do proceed with caution though. This is because not all 2020 13-inch MacBook Pro is able to support the display, as pointed out on Apple’s website:

This means you need to obtain the variants with 10th Gen Intel Core chip if you planning to hook up the notebook to the Pro Display XDR because the 2020 13-inch MacBook Pro variants with 8th Gen Intel Core chip comes with only two Thunderbolt 3 ports.

In Malaysia, the 2020 13-inch MacBook Pro variant with 10th Gen Intel Core chip comes with a starting price of RM 7,999. At this moment, the notebook is still not yet available through Apple Malaysia’s website though.

So, we will keep you posted once we receive more details from Apple regarding its arrival in our market.
