The Last Of Us II Gets An Official June Launch Date

Nearly two years after it was first revealed at E3 2018 and after two delays to its launch, it seems that Sony and Naughty Dog are finally ready to release The Last of Us II to the fans. Sony officially announced on its official blog page that the game will be arriving on 19 June.

Many believe that one particular reason behind Naughty Dog’s decision to release the launch date is due to a recent leak of The Last of Us II’s plot and story elements. Who exactly leaked it has yet to be determined, although it is being speculated that it was the work of a disgruntled Naughty Dog employee.

It also doesn’t help that the leak itself contains critical information and major plot points in the game; a point that the game’s director, Neil Druckmann, says is disappointing and left him “heartbroken”. We won’t mention what those leaked details are, out of respect for those among us who are looking forward to the game.

Suffice to say, if you’re the sort of person who is either unaffected by spoilers or simply curious about the plot, online information is in abundance.

On another note, The Last of Us II isn’t the only PlayStation exclusive that received an official launch date. Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Tsushima, which was originally supposed to launch on 26 June, will launch a month later on 17 July. Presumably, this is to give some breathing room between the two major titles and prevent any clashes.
