Selangor State Government And Grab Announce E-Bazar Ramadan

The Selangor state government, alongside Grab, have announced what they called E-Bazar Ramadan. This is in light of the cancellation of all Ramadan bazaars in the state, announced last week. This is an effort to bring the Ramadan bazaars online, essentially working around the cancellation of physical bazaars.

The idea behind the E-Bazar Ramadan is exactly what it says on the tin. You’ll be able to shop from a virtual Ramadan bazaar as you would a physical one every year before this. And this will be done via the Grab app.

With the cancellation of physical Ramadan bazaars, the Selangor state government predicts that up to 17000 merchants would have lost their means of income. In a way, this will help circumvent the cancellation of physical bazaars, allowing merchants to continue doing business despite the Movement Control Order (MCO).

While having access to your Ramadan bazaar favourites isn’t exactly new, this is the only option available this year. With stricter guidelines, merchants will have to register with their local city councils in order to be a part of the E-Bazar Ramadan.
