Itch.io Has 64 Indie Games Going For Cheap Or Free Outright
Itch.io has joined in the multitude of other services to help you cope with social distancing. The site is currently running a special offer, involving 64 indie games. They are all either have massive discounts attached to them, or are just outright free at the moment.
While the offer is clearly in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, there’s no indication as to when it will end. So you may want to claim them first before the offer ends, especially the free ones. Some of the titles currently on offer include Milkmaid of the Milky Way, A Mortician’s Tale, Night in the Woods and Bleed 2.
If you’re unfamiliar with Itch.io, it is a digital distributoin platform much like Steam or GOG. It has a greater focus on indie titles, as you’ll be able to tell from the 64 games. Devs also get to decide on the revenue sharing which, if they so choose, allow them to take 100% of their sales revenue.
Speaking of Steam, it too has its own indie highlight event in the form of the Steam Game Festival Spring Edition.
While no triple-A blockbuster titles seem to be involved, 64 is a huge number of games to be on offer. Of course, if that’s not enough, Ubisoft has Assassin’s Creed Odyssey free for a very limited time. And Sony Interactive Entertainment has recently added Monster Hunter: World to its list of free games for PS Plus subscribers this month.
