iPhone SE2 Production Delayed Indefinitely; Apple Allegedly Calls Off Launch Event

Previously, the Apple iPhone SE2 was said to be in mass production. A launch event was even said to be planned for the phone, initially scheduled to happen sometime this month. Now, it looks like the production of the phone been put on hold indefinitely. And as a result, the alleged launch event itself has been called off.

Part of the reason why the iPhone SE2 launch event was called off was because of an order by the Santa Clara County Public Health Department. The order banned gatherings of 1000 or more people between 11 March and 1 April.

Another major reason why the event was called off was because of the delay in production of “two of the primary products”. This, in turn, leads to not having the new devices to sell shortly after the announcement. While we know that one of them is the iPhone SE2, the other will likely remain a mystery.

Part of the delay may have something to do with the temporary closure of LG Innotek. This division of the Korean tech company reportedly supplies the cameras for Apple’s iPhones, which may include the iPhone SE2.

For now, the source to Cult of Mac says that it’s difficult for Apple to plan for future announcements. The company has a preliminary schedule, but it could change from one day to the next.

As a result, it will be difficult to say when the company will actually announce the iPhone SE2. We’ll just have to wait for Apple to feel comfortable doing so.
