Honor 30S Officially Launched; Features Kirin 820 5G And 64MP Main Camera

Honor has officially launched the Honor 30S on 30 March 2020 via online live stream. The new mid-range phone features the new 5G-capable Kirin 820 chipset, as well as an impressive quad-camera setup on its back.

The Honor 30s is equipped with a flat 6.5-inch FHD+ IPS display with a punch-hole selfie camera cutout on its top left corner. A volume rocker, as well as a lock button with a built-in fingerprint sensor are situated on the phone’s right side.

The aforementioned Kirin 820 5G SoC offers a 27% performance boost over last year’s Kirin 810, and features a six-core Mali-G57 MC6 GPU with GPU Turbo. Along with the chipset is 8GB RAM and storage options of either 128GB or 256GB. The phone is running on Magic UI 3.1.1 based on Android 10 with Huawei Mobile Services (HMS), and it also packs a 4,000 mAh battery that supports 40W fast charging.

On the Honor 30S’ back is a quad-camera setup consisting of a 64MP main sensor, 8MP telephoto with 3x optical and 20x hybrid zoom, a 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP depth sensor. In the punch-hole cutout is a 16MP front-facing camera.

The new phone from Honor will be available in black, blue, green and gradient colours. It is priced at CNY2,399 (~RM1,456) for the 128GB option, and CNY2,699 (~RM1,638) for the 256GB. The Honor 30S is now available for pre-order in China and is slated to be released starting from 7 April 2020. However, there’s no word on global availability at this time.
