Consumers To Receive Free 1GB Per Day Throughout MCO Period

As part of the Prihatin economic stimulus package, PM Muhyiddin Yassin has announced that telco companies in Malaysia will be providing free Internet data throughout the Movement Control Period. While details regarding it are not yet available at the moment, it appears that consumers will receive 1GB on daily basis.

This move apparently cost RM 600 million to be implemented and will be made available starting from 1 April 2020 until MCO is concluded. Another RM 400 million has also been allocated to help improve network coverage in Malaysia.
