Alleged AMD Ryzen 4000 Series Desktop Processor Leaks With B550 Motherboard
AMD’s Renoir-based Ryzen 4000 series processors for notebooks first came to light during CES 2020 that happened earlier this year. Now, a recent tweet by Twitter user _rogame (@_rogame) seems to confirm that the company already has a desktop version of its Ryzen 4000 processor.
According to @_rogame’s tweet, the alleged desktop-based Ryzen 4000 processor was running on a Gigabyte B550 AORUS Pro AC motherboard. Leaving us to believe that this particular CPU isn’t a high-end variant, but a mid-range variant of sorts. Further information also indicates that it will have integrated Radeon GPU cores, all supposedly running at 1750MHz.
First Renoir Desktop Result ?
Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. B550 AORUS PRO AC
CPU clock : 3.5GHz
GPU clock : 1750MHz (same as 4800U & 4900H 8CU?)
DDR4 2133MHz3dmark 11 Performance
Overall score : 5659
For context :
Best 4800U : 6309
Best 4700U : 5713— _rogame (@_rogame) March 11, 2020
If the B550 motherboard still isn’t enough of an indication that the processor isn’t enthusiast-level, the tweet also specifies that it was tested with DDR4 RAM running at 2133MHz. That’s pretty slow, considering that Renoir’s Zen 2 CPU architecture supports DDR4 RAM speeds of up 3200MHz.
Sadly, there still isn’t a whole lot of information of the Ryzen 4000 desktop processor, and AMD still hasn’t made any official statement of it either. However, if these specs are to be believed, then we’re probably looking at a processor that will use the AM4 socket. Until then, take this news with a very large grain of salt.
