Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Ad Aired During Academy Awards

There was little doubt that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is going to make an appearance during the Unpacked event. It looks like its appearance has now been confirmed, just before the event itself. The confirmation came from an ad that aired during the Academy Awards.

From the ad, the Koren tech giant showcased the entirety of the phone. Though most of it has already been seen thanks to one of the more recent leaks. This includes the purple colour variant of the phone. Though another colour option appears to be black, according to the ad.

One new element that the ad does showcase is the outer secondary display, which is in full colour. It also shows you who’s calling, and you can swipe to accept or reject the call.

Speaking of calls, the ad also showcased one use scenario of leaving the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip half folded for video calls. During this segment of the ad, though, the fine print on the bottom right reads “You may notice a small crease in the centre of the screen, which is a natural characteristic of the screen”.

And finally, at the very end of the ad is the the date of the Unpacked event, 11 February 2020. This will be 12 February for us, considering time zone differences. If there are any details of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip that’s not already revealed or leaked, then this will be where we’ll find out.
