No Time to Die Will Be the Longest James Bond Movie Ever

The film’s title may be No Time to Die, but Daniel Craig’s last hoorah as the suave and psychologically disturbed double-0 will be the longest James Bond movie ever. Regal Cinemas in the US has revealed that Cary Fukanaga’s action-thriller will be 2 hours and 43 minutes (163 minutes) which is 15 minutes longer than the previous record-holder, Spectre (148 minutes).

IF true (remember, this isn’t official information released by MGM or Universal) it doesn’t come as a huge surprise. After all, not only is No Time to Die Craig’s last outing as the titular character, the film itself is billed as a huge game-changing event, something that could potentially shake the landscape of the James Bond universe.

Last year, the culmination of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s ‘Infinity Saga’, Avengers: Endgame, clocked in at 181 minutes. When its runtime was first announced, you could sense a sort of nervous excitement from the internet. People were creating and sharing memes and ‘how to prevent your bladder from exploding while watching Endgame’ tips. All of it was kind of hilarious to some of us who grew up watching films like The Godfather: Part II (3 hours 22 minutes), Titanic (3 hours 14 minutes), The Lord of the Rings Extended Edition and Indian cinema.

Official synopsis of No Time to Die:

In No Time To Die, James Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

James Bond No Time to Die is set to open in Malaysian cinemas on 9 April 2020.
