BIRD is the word for Libratone's new Bluetooth speaker

Have you heard about the BIRD? Libratone has launched a new wireless speaker to tie in with its 10th anniversary celebrations

There’s a quirky new speaker from the Danish brand in the form of an affordable and petite-sized speaker in the Libratone BIRD.

Designed to be easy and fun to use, the BIRD (which also has the facial features of a bird) has interactive touch controls. You can wake it up by turning its head (which we recommend you don’t do with actual real-life birds), tap its forehead or touch its tail for other controls.

It’s compatible with voice assistants – Libratone doesn’t specify which one but we presume all the main ones are supported. It’s very small at 84 x 56mm (HxD) and very light at 146g, making them a great travel companion, although there’s no mention of IP rating which likely means this BIRD isn’t a fan of inclement weather. And you won’t have to worry about battery life as the BIRD can keep flying for 10 hours before it needs a recharge.

For those who want to get a bigger sound, two BIRDs can be paired together. The magnetic base of the BIRD makes it happy to perch on any metallic surface and the optional holder means you can give the BIRD its own permanent nesting place.

Available in a choice of pink and blue colour options, the BIRD is available exclusively from Libratone’s own online store for £59.
