Turn Your iPhone Into A Classic iPod With The Rewound App

Navigating through your music with the click wheel on the classic iPod is a satisfying yet nostalgic feeling. Thankfully, you can now relive that satisfaction on your Apple iPhone through an app called Rewound.

The app syncs with your Apple Music library for audio playback, and actually lets your phone function like a classic iPod, complete with a functional but fully digital click wheel. Rewound uses downloadable skins to make the app appear like an iPod, and even provides haptic feedback whenever you rotate or tap the click wheel.

Rewound was developed by Louis Anslow of Rethought Agency and according to his statement to CNet, the app was created as “an experimental project exploring the blurring lines between digital and physical world.” Needless to say, the idea and drive for the app’s creation was nostalgia.

The Rewound app is now available in the Apple App Store, and is completely free. As mentioned earlier, the app currently supports Apple Music but a Spotify compatibility is currently in the works, according to its App Store listing. And no, Rewound is not available in Google Play Store. Sorry, Android users.
