Samsung Unveils Galaxy A71; Features Infinity-O Display, 64MP Main Camera

Earlier last week, Samsung officially launched the Galaxy A51 during an event in Vietnam. In that same event, Samsung also unveiled another mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy A71.

Like the Galaxy A51, the Galaxy A71 is the direct successor to this year’s Galaxy A70, albeit with some minor updates and changes to its hardware. For starters, the Galaxy A71 sports a 6.7-inch Infinity-O Super AMOLED display; the previous Galaxy A70 used the Infinity-U display.

Underneath the hood, the Galaxy A71 reportedly runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 SoC, has between 6GB and 8GB RAM, and 128GB of expandable storage. Keeping all these components powered is the same 4500mAh battery used in its predecessor. The one change is that the Galaxy A71 supports 25W fast-charging.

The main attraction of the Galaxy A71 is, unsurprisingly, its main quad-camera module at the back of the phone. To elaborate, the module comprises a 64MP f/1.8 sensor, a 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide, a 5MP f/2.2 depth sensor, and a 5MP f/2.4 macro camera. Around the front, the Infinity-O notch houses a 32MP f/2.2 selfie camera.

Unlike the Galaxy A51, Samsung did not have a price tag for the Galaxy A71, neither did it have a launch date for it. On a brighter note, the phone will reportedly ship with Android 10 right out of the box.
