Samsung Quietly Announces Galaxy A01; Passes SIRIM Certification

Samsung has clearly been on a roll with its production of mid-range smartphone, as evidenced by the Galaxy A51 and A71. That said, the brand both recently and quietly released the Galaxy A01, a smartphone for the entry-level market.

On paper, the Galaxy A01’s hardware lists down an unnamed octa-core SoC (probably an entry-level Snapdragon or Exynos), between 6GB and 8GB RAM, and 128GB of expandable storage. The display only has HD+ resolution, but it is using Samsung’s Infinity-V panel design.

Moving on, the Galaxy A01’s main dual-camera is a combination of a 13MP f/2.2 and 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. Around the front, the selfie camera uses a 5MP f/2.0 sensor. Lastly, the phone is powered by a 3000mAh battery.

At the time of writing, there’s still no word about availability and pricing for the Galaxy A01. Interestingly enough, the phone has reportedly passed and received SIRIM certification since 14 November.
