Resident Evil 3 Remake Will Be More Action-Oriented

Resident Evil 3 remake was announced during Sony’s last State of Play livestream. Its minimum requirements for PC has also already been listed on Steam. And it looks like the development of the game is sailing smoothly for its 3 April release.

In an interview with Famitsu, translated by DualShockers, producers Masao Kawada and Peter J Fabiano shared that development for the remake is pretty much complete. Publisher Capcom is currently making the final adjustments, 90% of which has already been done. With all that, the game won’t be deviating from its April release schedule.

That said, the producers did say that Resident Evil 3 remake will have more changes compared to the original than Resident Evil 2 remake had. Part of the changes include being more action oriented, compared to both the original and the previous remake. Protagonist Jill Valentine’s design has been tweaked to reflect this as well, while keeping her identity intact. For better or worse, her original design, as well as Carlos Oliveira’s, will be included as a pre-order bonus.

It remains to be seen if the action skew will be to the game’s benefit or detriment. Resident Evil 6 was quite universally panned for going too far in this direction. At any rate, 3 April 2020 isn’t too far off now. So it won’t be too long a wait before we find out. Resident Evil 3 remake will be available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
