Motorola Razr Gets Delayed Due To High Demand

Back when the Motorola Razr was first announced, the company gave it a January release window. Now, it looks like that availability will be pushed back a bit. In a statement, the company states that this is because demand for it has been greater than initially predicted.

Here’s Motorola’s full statement on the matter:

We would like to share an update on Motorola Razr’s pre-sale and in-store availability. Below is our official statement regarding the update:

Since its announcement in November, the new Motorola Razr has received unparalleled excitement and interest from consumers. Demand has been high, and as a result, has quickly outgrown supply predictions.

Motorola has decided to adjust Razr’s pre-sale and launch timing to better meet consumer demand. We are working to determine the appropriate quantity and schedule to ensure that more consumers have access to Razr at launch.

We do not anticipate a significant shift from our original availability timeline.

Predicting a low initial demand did seem like the natural thing to do. After all, we’re talking about a phone that costs over RM6000 for a phone that packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710. Other items in the spec sheet include 6GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, and a 2510mAh battery.

Based on Motorola’s statement, its likely that the Razr will enter the market in February at its earliest. Asia was in the list of markets that the company intends to release the phone, but it is still unclear if we are in it.
