The New Motorola Razr Only Supports eSIM
After its official launch yesterday, the new Motorola Razr foldable smartphone by Lenovo has quickly become a highly desirable device thanks to its updated clamshell design which harkens back to the signature and traditional look of its much beloved predecessors. However, the new Razr does come with one major caveat that most might find as a huge turn-off: it lacks a SIM tray and could only support eSIM.
This may not be a big deal for some, but a majority of mobile phone users are still relying on physical SIM cards for their network access. Therefore, users will need to upgrade their subscription to the new eSIM system in order to use the new Motorola Razr – provided that the phone will ever see the light of day in Malaysia. Fortunately for us, the major telco providers in Malaysia have already integrated eSIM to their services, should that day arrive.
To recap, the Motorola Razr is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset, 6GB RAM with 128GB storage, a 2510mAh battery capacity, and a camera setup consisting of a 16MP main and a 5MP front-facing camera. The phone will be released globally in 2020 for US$1499 (~RM6234), while its availability in Malaysia has not been confirmed.
