Netflix Mobile Plan Goes Official in Malaysia; Costs RM 17 Per Month
Just moments ago, Netflix has officially announced a new plan for mobile users in Malaysia. While the official launch might have taken place today, the company has actually been testing the plan since November last year in our market.
According to Netflix, Malaysia is the first country in Southeast Asia to receive the new mobile-exclusive plan. Interesting enough, the official monthly fee for this plan has been set at RM 17 per month, which is the same price when the plan was still in the testing phase.
Under this mobile plan, customers will have access to Netflix contents through one phone or tablet at standard definition. This means the contents that they can enjoy have a maximum resolution of 540p and this applies to both streaming as well as downloaded contents.
At the same time, Netflix mobile plan customers are also not able to cast or mirror their Netflix app to other devices. Other than these main characteristics, the mobile plan experience is pretty much identical to the service’s higher-tier plans.
Meanwhile, the new Netflix’s mobile plan is available to both new customers as well as existing subscribers that want to downgrade their existing plan. For more information, just head on to Netflix’s official website.
