Upcoming HONOR Band 5 Update Gives It The Missing Blood Oxygen Monitoring Feature
When the HONOR Band 5 was first announced, one of its key features was its blood oxygen monitoring. Unfortunately, when it came to our shores, this feature wasn’t available due to certification issues. It would appear that said issues have been resolved, as the company is pushing a new update that activates the feature.
The update in question will be pushed over the air on 29 September. You can manually check for it through the Huawei Health app. Once the HONOR Band 5 has gotten the update, the “blood oxygen monitoring” option will be made available.
In addition to the blood oxygen monitor, the update will also add remote music controls to the Band 5. Oddly enough, it’s a feature that you’ll still have to activate via the the Huawei Health app. Either way, you’ll be able to control most of the commonly used music player apps using an updated Band 5.
As mentioned earlier, the update will be available over the air starting 29 September 2019. The HONOR Band 5 itself is priced at RM149, but you can get RM10 off if you get it during HONOR Malaysia’s Pay Day Sale. The sale takes place between 27 September and 10 October.
