Huawei Nova 5i Pro Now Official; Features 810 SoC And Quad-Camera Setup

A month after the official launch of the Nova 5, Huawei has officially launched the Nova 5i Pro in China. Like all “i” variants of the Nova series, the phone is essentially a toned-down variant of the original Nova 5.

Specs-wise, the Nova 5i Pro feature a large 6.25-inch IPS LCD display with a punch hole for the selfie camera situated at the top-left corner. Underneath the hood, the phone runs on Huawei’s new 7nm Kirin 810 SoC, a choice of 6GB and 8GB RAM, and storage capacities of either 128GB or 256GB. Despite the US ban, the phone runs on the latest Android 9.0 Pie OS. Powering it all up is a 4000mAh battery.

Additionally, the phone also supports 20W fast-charging that Huawei says will give the phone 50% battery for just 30 minutes of charging.

The highlight of the Nova 5i Pro is, without a doubt, the quad-camera main array that’s located around the back. Specifically, the camera module comprises a 48MP f/1.8 Sony IMX586 sensor, an 8MP ultrawide module, a 2MP Super Macro module, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the other hand, the selfie camera in the punch hole uses a 32MP f/2.0 sensor.

For the current moment, the Nova 5i Pro will only be going on sale in China. As for the options available, it appears that the phone is available in three configurations: 6GB/128GB for 2199 Yuan (~RM1316), 8GB/128GB for 2499 Yuan (~RM1496), and 8GB/256GB for 2799 Yuan (~RM1676). The phone will be available in three colours, Black, Green, and Blue.
