Upcoming Huawei Nova 5 To Feature 7nm Kirin 810

He Gang, head of Huawei’s smartphone division, announced that the company’s upcoming Nova 5 will be equipped with a new Kirin processor. It’s the Kirin 810, and it’s pretty special in two ways.

For one, it’s believed to be the successor to the Kirin 710 commonly equipped in midrange devices. Secondly, it’s also the company’s second 7nm chipset. The first is the Kirin 980 which is usually reserved for flagship devices like the P30 series.

Specs for the Kirin 810 have not been confirmed, but it’s believed to be an eight-core CPU with an ARM Cortex-A76 custom large core and a Mali-G52 GPU. As for the Nova 5 phone, it is expected to come with a 6.39-inch AMOLED Full HD+ display, a notch for the 32MP front-facing camera, an under-display fingerprint sensor, and a quad-camera setup starring a 48MP shooter.

Huawei is expected to launch the Nova 5, Nova 5i, and its Pro versions this week, according to GSMArena.
