The Non-Pro Version of OnePlus 7 Comes with A Notch; Still Features Snapdragon 855 and 48MP Rear Camera
Following the unveiling of OnePlus 7 Pro, its creator has also launched the non-Pro version of the device. Despite sharing the same base name, it is generally not hard to set them apart.
For starters, the standard OnePlus 7 model is not equipped with a popup selfie camera as per OnePlus 7 Pro. Instead, it is being housed within the phone’s display notch even though it uses similar 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor. Other than that, the standard OnePlus 7 model is also equipped with a dual camera system on its back as opposed to OnePlus 7 Pro’s triple camera system.
While OnePlus continues to utilize the 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor for the main rear camera on the non-Pro model, it has paired the sensor with an f/1.7 lens instead of an f/1.6 lens that the company has equipped into the Pro variant. OnePlus has also provided the non-Pro model with another 5MP f/2.4 camera that acts as its depth sensor.
The standard OnePlus 7 model also features a smaller screen in the form of 6.41-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display although the optical in-display fingerprint scanner is still present. Still powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 and can be obtained with UFS 3.0-based internal storage of up to 256GB, the RAM option for the phone maxed out at 8GB. Not to forget, the phone also comes with a slightly smaller 3700mAh battery.
In terms of pricing, OnePlus 7 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage goes for INR 32,999 (~RM 1,958) while the variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage is listed at INR 37,999 (~RM 2,255). For now, we have no knowledge of the phone’s availability for our market but nevertheless, do stay tuned for further information on 21 May which is the official launch day of OnePlus 7 series in Malaysia.
