Google Malaysia Honours Sudirman with A Doodle; In Celebration of His 65th Birthday

In conjunction of what would be his 65th birthday, Google earlier today has unveiled a Doodle to honour one of the nation’s most well-known singer, the late Sudirman Hj. Arshad. The legend has joined Mokhtar Dahari, P.Ramlee, and Yasmin Ahmad as among only a handful of prominent Malaysians that have received such tribute from Google.

In addition to his birthday, the unveiling of the Google Doodle seems to be timed nicely with the upcoming Raya celebration. During his lifetime, Sudirman has recorded quite a number of Raya-themed songs which that are still being cherished until today.

Of course, there’s also the Balik Kampung song which was originally not a Raya song but is quite popular during Raya season anyway due to its theme.
