Apple Reportedly Pulling The Plug On iTunes

In just a few more days, Apple will be going to become the centre of attention once again as the company kicks off its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Jose. WWDC is not a place to expect new major products since it is a developer-oriented event even though there is a lingering rumour about a new Mac Pro but that being said, you can usually see a glimpse of Apple’s future direction over there.

As per customary, WWDC-related rumours have started flying around but one part of the report by the consumer technology reporter at Bloomberg, Mark Gurman has certainly caught our attention. According to Mark, Apple will be moving away from iTunes by launching three new apps for the Mac.

These apps come in the form of Music, TV, and Podcasts which already existed on iPhones and iPad. Given the fact that iTunes has been around for more than 18 years, it is rather understandable that long-time Apple user might feel awkward with the move but it looks like a logical move to us since the company itself is going big with individual services such as Apple Music and Apple TV+.

Nevertheless, we are still curious about the steps that Apple will take to migrate these users that are so used to iTunes to the new era. Of course, let’s first see how accurate this report will be once the WWDC keynote takes place at 1:00 AM Malaysian time on 4 June.
