Google Assistant And Siri Are Equal According To Microsoft Study; Measured By Popularity
As a smartphone user, you’ll likely be using one of two digital assistants – the Google Assistant, or Apple’s Siri. And despite what you may say about the two, a Microsoft research found that both the Google Assistant and Siri share the top spot.
At this point, it’s important to note that Microsoft is measuring the virtual assistants in terms of their popularity, and not functionality. As mentioned, the Google Assistant and Siri are the most commonly used ones, at 36%. This is then followed by Amazon’s Alexa at 25% and Microsoft’s own Cortana, at 19%. Bixby, on the other hand, falls under the 1% “Other” category.
It’s also probably important to note that the research took in 2000 responses from the US, UK, Canada, Australia and India. This was then followed by 5000 more responses from the US, so it’s far from a global representative sample.
The survey also reveals that people are becoming increasingly reliant on virtual assistants, but are equally concerned about their privacy. You can check out the Microsoft study from the source link below.
