Apple and Qualcomm settle royalty lawsuit through new patent agreement

Just as Apple and Qualcomm’s patent dispute was starting to get interesting, it looks like the bitter battle between the two companies is already over.

The tech giants have settled their patent royalty dispute, halting all ongoing legal action between the two companies. Apple has reportedly agreed to pay Qualcomm an unknown amount of money, with both sides of the conflict agreeing to a six-year licensing deal and a multi-year chipset supply agreement.

It’s unclear what brought on an end to the long-running legal conflict between the two companies given the lawsuit’s federal trial was set to officially start on April 15th.
