Beats rumoured to release wire-free PowerBeats headphones in April
Apple unveiled its new AirPods earlier this week that not only included an H1 chip and hands-free Hey Siri support, but also wireless charging capabilities.
New rumours point towards Beats, which is an Apple-owned company, quickly following suit and launching a wire-free version of their own. According to CNET, Beats will release a version of the PowerBeats that will lack the cord connecting the two headhones together.
The estimated time for the announcement is expected to be next month but a definite date is still unknown.
Another missing from the report is the design of the wireless PowerBeats model. To distinguish itself from Apple’s AirPods, it’s expected the headphones will be over-the-ear. In addition, these new Beats headphone are tipped to include Apple’s new H1 chip and also have the same always-on Siri voice-assistant integration that the new AirPods have.
Pricing is still unclear but said to be in line with other PowerBeats products around the $250 CAD.
