Samsung Unveils Galaxy Tab S5e; Features Snapdragon 670 SoC And Large 7040mAh Battery

Samsung has quietly unveiled the Galaxy Tab S5e. The brand’s latest Android-based tablet to be introduced to the masses.

The tablet’s announcement comes well ahead of MWC 2019. For context, Samsung would usually announce new smartphones and other mobile devices – such as tablets – during the convention in Barcelona, Spain.

Specs-wise, the Galaxy Tab S5e isn’t decked out with the market’s most premium hardware. It comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 SoC, a RAM and storage choice between 4GB/64GB or 6GB/128GB. The storage is, by the way, expandable up to 512GB via microSD card.

It also seems to come in one display size, which is a 10.5-inch WQXGA Super AMOLED display.  Powering all the components is a 7040mAh non-removable battery. It supports fast charging, done via the tablet’s USB-C port or the built-in pogo pins.

Interestingly, the Galaxy Tab S5e doesn’t come with a 3.5mm headphone jack, but Samsung’s that each tablet will come with a USB-C headset connector. On the audio note, Samsung has installed four speakers tweaked by AKG and Dolby Atmos.

What makes the Galaxy Tab S5e appealing is its weight and slim design. The tablet only weighs in at 400g, and has a thickness of just 5.5mm. Software-wise, it runs Android 9.0 Pie out of the box and comes integrated with Samsung’s Bixby 2.0 digital assistant.

At the time of writing, Samsung Malaysia hasn’t provided any local availability or pricing for the Galaxy tab S5e.
