GOG Ends Fair Price Package Program; Wallet Fund Rebates Stop After 31 March

If you love to buy games through GOG, then you’ve probably benefited from its Fair Price Package program. Unfortunately, it looks like the program will be coming to an end soon.

For the unfamiliar, the program essentially makes it so that there’s a price parity for games being sold in the US and other countries. As an example, let’s say a game costs more in Ringgit Malaysia than USD after conversion: the differences would then be refunded as GOG Wallet funds.

GOG says that it’s given back on average 12% of game prices from its own coffers, and the number can get as high as 37% in some cases. The game store was able to cover these extra costs and still profit, but claims that recent trends of increasing revenue share being paid to developers is making this unsustainable.

The Fair Price Package program will come to an end on 31 March. You can still take advantage of the program for the time being, but funds gathered from the program will expire 12 months after they’re granted to you.
