Fujifilm X-T30 Mirrorless Camera Combines A Compact Design With High-End Specs

Fujifilm has just unveiled the new X-T30, a new addition to the X-series line of cameras. Using an APS-C sensor, the camera carries over many features from the X-T3 but in a smaller body and more affordable price tag.

The sensor in the new X-T30 is the 4th-generation 26.1MP X-Trans sensor paired with the X-Processor image processor. The new camera is also equipped with a hybrid autofocus system with 425 points across the entire frame which provides faster face detection when compared to its predecessor.

At only 383 grams, the X-T30 is the same weight as its predecessor the X-T20. What it does gain however are several small upgrades in ergonomics and ports. This includes an AF joystick replacing the D-Pad, USB 3.1 Type-C and Bluetooth.

Like the X-T3, the X-T30 offers excellent video recording options out of the box. It boasts 4K/30p and 10-bit 4:2:2 output via HDMI and 8-bit 4:2:0 for internal recording alongside 120fps recording at 1080p for slow-motion video. Fujifilm even managed to extend the battery life of the battery up to 380 shots per charge.

The new Fujifilm X-T30 will be available from March onwards for USD$899 (~RM3,655) body-only, USD$999 (~RM4,060) with the XC 15-45mm F3.5-5.6 OIS Power Zoom or USD$1299 (~RM5,280) with the 18-55mm F2.8-4. At launch, the camera can be obtained in either Black or Silver while the third colourway – Charcoal Silver – will be available from June onwards.
