EA And Respawn Already Banned 16000 Cheaters From Apex Legends

Respawn’s Apex Legends is a very popular, albeit young game. Despite this, the developer has already banned over 16000 cheaters from the game.

The developer’s community manager made the announcement via a Reddit post. At the same time, other gamers are also encouraged to report cheaters as are encountered, even if they are unable to get evidence like screenshots. The community manager also said “that’s a very good idea,” in response to feedback about a report feature.

Of course, Respawn also took this opportunity to promise improved stability, performance and other quality of life features in future updates. Incidentally, one of them is coming this week. The post doesn’t mention anything about solo or duo modes, so it’s probably not coming in this update.

It goes to show that cheaters, just like any other gamer, will flock to a popular game. And it’s also a testament to Apex Legends’ popularity, having to ban over 16000 cheaters in two weeks.

For those who aren’t up to speed, Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale title developed by Respawn Entertainment, the same developers who also gave us the Titanfall franchise. Despite being just two weeks old, the game saw a surge in popularity, accumulating more than 25 million players in that time span.
