Vivo APEX 2019 Goes Official: A Minimalist Phone with No Physical Buttons; Supports 5G

We have heard whispers regarding this particular phone but today, it is finally made official. A follow-up to the device that generated a substantial amount of buzz at MWC 2018, here comes the Vivo APEX 2019.

One of its main highlights is the fact that the APEX 2019 does not carry any physical buttons. Instead, the phone utilizes capacitive touch and pressure sensors on its side as the alternative to standard physical volume and power buttons.

Vivo has also opted not to equip the APE 2019 with the usual USB charging and data port. Instead, the company came out with a magnetic power connector called MagPort which is located on the lower back part of the phone and supports data transfer. Other than that, users are able to unlock APEX 2019 by scanning their fingerprints on almost any part of the phone’s display.

Vivo has also confirmed that the APEX 2019 is its first 5G smartphone which is not surprising since the phone is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. It also comes standard with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage although the company didn’t reveal further information regarding APEX 2019’s actual release date or pricing.
