Facebook Publicly Testing Messenger Dark Mode With Select Individuals

After getting streamlined, it looks like Facebook’s Messenger app is also getting a dark mode. The social media was internally testing the Messenger dark mode, and now it’s showing up to certain members of the public.

The feature was first spotted by Jane Manchun Wong, who tweeted about it back in October last year. Quite fittingly, it really is dark. While it’s easy on the eyes especially when used in the dark, being completely in the black may not work for some.

But from the look of things, people do want the dark mode, and the sooner the better. In a new tweet, she says that the mode has been brought to public testing due to pressure from users.

For now, it’s not publicly known who are the ones getting to test this night mode out. It’s not even a certainty that this is a mode that will be released to everyone just yet. That said, the fact that it got to the public testing phase may be a encouraging sign, as long as it isn’t a mistake.
