Twitter Sparkle Button Enables Switch Between Latest And Popular Posts

About three months ago, Twitter was said to be testing a way to bring the reverse-chronological feed back to users. A month later, we found out that it may come in the form of a button. That button is now here.

The button has a sparkle icon, and tapping on it brings out the option for you to switch between “Top Tweets” and the reverse-chronological feed. This does still mean that the former is the default, but at least you don’t have to dive deep into the settings to change the order of your feed.

That said, your selection may be reverted at some point. According to TechCrunch, the feed settings will be reset every once in a while and you’ll have to change them back to reverse-chronological order. It appears that the micro-blogging platform is still experimenting with the duration. At the very least, this setting won’t change in the middle of a session.

This feature is now live on iOS, with an Android implementation expected to be made soon. If you’re on Twitter via a browser, then you’ll have to do some digging to change these settings. You’ll have to first click on your profile image, followed by the Account option. Then, under Content, uncheck the box for “Show the best tweets first.”
