Instagram Accidentally Rolled Out Side Swiping Test Build
For a short while, Instagram changed the way it worked before reverting to the way things have always been. And that short moment was caused by a bug that rolled out a test build to everyone.
The test build in question experiments with side-to-side swiping and tapping, making the feed work like its Stories. The pulled update even had a note that read “Tap through posts, just like you tap through stories.”

In a way, it’s a fortunate thing that it was an accidental release of a test build and not an official rollout. It was clear that a fair number of people are not happy with the change. At least, that’s what Instagram head Adam Mosseri says.
Should already be rolled back. If you're still seeing it you can simply restart your app and you should be good to go.

If you’ve already gotten the update and would like the old Instagram back, then all you need to do is to restart the application.
